Please introduce yourself and your work to us!
My name is Clint. I live in Durango, Co. I’m a designer, an illustrator, a coffee drinker, a bicycle rider, an over-analyzer, a beard grower, a music lover, an enthusiastic uncle, a worrier, a lister-of-things.
There are always too many things circling around in my head, and my illustration has become the chief source of “venting” these thoughts. Just about every piece has some hidden meaning or significant personal attachment.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on a show that will open at Studio & (anddurango.com) on Jan 25. The show will consist of lots of tiny illustrations, and several large canvases (a first!). The show is called Perspective.
What is your favorite medium?
My favorite medium is pen and watercolor.
When did you start drawing?
I started drawing around age 3. Mario, Garfield, Ninja Turtles and Spiderman, mostly. Also the Batmobile.
Where do you enjoy working the most?
If I could, I’d spend time every day at a coffee shop, in the corner, with my sketchbook.
What are some of your favorite artists?
I’m inspired by so many creative people, but a few stand-outs: Julian Callos, Scott Campbell, Anna Enola, and all my friends who bring their sketchbooks and sit with me at the coffee shop.
In your opinion what is your best quality?
My best quality? I learned from my parents to always think of others, and never stop working.
