My name is Clint. I live in Durango, Co. I'm a designer, an illustrator, a coffee drinker, a bicycle rider, an over-analyzer, a beard grower, a music lover, an enthusiastic uncle, a worrier, a lister-of-things.

30.
I never thought I’d see that number, for lots of reasons. But in 8 hours I’ll be there. It’s been amazing and humbling to see my scribbles go from a sketchbook on a coffee shop table to shirts and cards and stickers and things, all going home with people who have made a meaningful connection with the things that float around in my brain. And finally, after 30 years, I know what I want to do with my life. Make meaningful things. Make connections. Make cake. Pancakes. With chocolate chips.
I’m hosting a pre-order for two new shirts, Arrowed! and Shipwrecked, to help fund a big push to be able to make more things, more often. You can check that out here. It’s a good feeling to make a mess, to pull ink across a screen, to grab a hot t-shirt from under the dryer and send it to someone. I like that.
Too much information? Probably. But it’s my birthday. I’m going to put candles in my beard and share too much. Thank you, everyone who bought something from the store or the gallery, who asked questions, who challenged me, who hovered over my shoulder at the coffee shop and said, “hey that looks cool, I draw too,” who helped with my crazy schemes, came to an art show, or just smiled. It all means everything. And thank you Scott for lighting candles in my beard and standing by with a bucket of water. And Hailey, for taking beautiful photos.

“what brings us together / what keeps us apart”
(paint pen and acrylic on canvas, 48”x60”)
this is the biggest painting i’ve ever done. the goal was to replicate the same technique in my small pen and watercolor illustrations, but on a much larger scale. it turned out to be a great challenge, i really enjoyed it!
The opening for my show PERSPECTIVE is happening tonight at Studio & in Durango, CO!
My most recent illustrations will be shown, along with the largest pieces I’ve ever created. I wanted to challenge myself for this show, so I got some large canvases with the goal of replicating the same style as my small-scale pen and watercolor illustrations. After a month of little sleep and plenty stress, the show is on the walls. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by for some hand-crafted rootbeer and art! Thanks to my fellow Studio & members for all your help, and thank you Tumblr friends for all your support and encouragement. I give you all of my high fives.
